TOWN OF FORT FRANCES COUNCIL MINUTES SESSION NO. 14 APRIL 9, 2007

The meeting of Council of the Town of Fort Frances was held in the Council Chambers, Civic Centre on Monday, April 9, 2007 from 6:24 p.m. to 6:35 p.m.

PRESENT: Mayor R. Avis, Chairperson; Councillors J. Albanese, T. Drysdale, A Hallikas, G. Paul Ryan, S. Tibbs and R. Wiedenhoeft.

ALSO PRESENT: M. McCaig, Administrator, G. Treftlin, Clerk; G. Bell, Manager, Community Services; D. Brown, Manager, Operations & Facilities; L. Witherspoon, Treasurer.

1. Written communications as per the agenda attached.

2. Non agenda item:

1) Mayor Avis acknowledged with appreciation the financial contribution ($18,975.)

to Sister Kennedy Centre from the estate of Myrtle Frances Gaylord.

3. Resolutions:

150 Albanese-Wiedenhoeft: THAT the following Consent items be approved:

1) Committee of the Whole Consent items # 7,9,10,11,12, and 13.

2) Council Consent Summary Report # 23

3) Council Consent items # 25,26,27 and 28. CARRIED

7) adopted a Children’s Complex dress code policy and a policy respecting Children Attending Day Care or Private Home Day Care on a Drop In Basis.

9) approved maintaining existing concrete barriers and installation of proper signage, restricting access to the laneway behind 205 to 237 Third Street West.

10) approved amending certain charges for work performed at 1301 Mill Road during January 2007 and developing a written Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for unplugging of private sanitary sewer lines.

11) approved adjustments to Aviation Fuel Pump Prices at the Fort Frances Municipal Airport.

12) approved an amendment to the Travel Policy reflecting changes to the Use of Personal Vehicle for Out of Town Travel Waiver.

13) approved an Internet and E-Mail Acceptable Use Policy.

25) referred the request from the Fort Frances Aquanauts Swim Team for financial support re: 2007 Banner Fund to Administration and Finance Executive Committee for recommendation.

26) referred a deeming request from Paul Herbert Morrison re: Lots 22 and 23 on Plan SM-69 – 902 Crowe Avenue to the Municipal Planner for processing.

27) proclaimed June 2007 as “Seniors’ Month.

28) proclaimed April 28 to May 6, 2007 as “Naturopathic Medicine Week”.
